B, you are so multi-talented. I still can't believe that I am enjoying this show so much, I even when out and bought the first book.

I know I'm still pretty crap at icons. lol That's why I only post them here and I tend to use the same colours and largely make animated which is bad. But it's fun and I'm learning...slowly.

I enjoyed the second and third books better than the first because Eric was my favourite character as soon as he appeared.

People seem to react with embarassment when they like a vampire show or is it because it's a porny vampire show? I don't think people are embarassed to like Buffy, but they were embarassed to like Moonlight. Most people I talk to say 'I can't believe I like this show'. lol I like vampire mythology when it's done well and I'm glad I'm enjoying this show because I haven't seen a decent vampire offering for a long time.

I think in proximity to Moonlight, this show looks a bazillion times better. The casting has mostly NAILED the characters and the actors are good so that's a bonus. The strong writing for those characters helps a lot too. I felt like the writers on Moonlight weren't sure who the smaller characters were and therefore didn't know how to use them. I think you can tell a show is good by how good the minor characters are so that's probably why book-shows are much stronger because there's a wonderfully rounded minor character and it doesn't take long to establish their voice.

But, yeah, let's admit it the fact there's a good chance there will be near-porn later in the ships we like doesn't hurt this show's chances. lol I decided to watch it because I thought it would probably have a better frame of reference if it started as a book, but even the tweaking changes they've made so far have been pretty impressive. It's good to be able to compare it to the books though definitely. SO get reading!!! I need to be able to talk to someone because most people i know haven't read them and thus can't talk to me. lol

I know they probably won't use all the content past book one and after watching Dexter, I'm used to that and prepared for it. It would just be such a shame for Eric lovers like me. *pouts* I'm glad they cast Stephen Moyer as Bill though because I like him on the show, he has more spirit thus I probably would still like the show if they don't continue to follow the books.

B, your icons are great! I know you are newer to this versus your writing, but they still rock! I always admire the shots you choose and they animations your make. You need to make me a Lafayette icon.

For me its not so much the porn or liking a vamp show (I will watch anything vamp related or read anything), and sex scenes don't bother me as long as they're relevant to the story. I have issues with some of the characters. Like I get Jason has a way with the ladies, and is sorta dumb, but do we really need to see him have sex EVERY episode? Or bumble his way through everything? And I really, really enjoy Lafayette, Rene, Eric and even Arlene or Bellefleur and the Sherrif, but Tara is really hit or miss for me. I understand that she's got this gruff/bitchy exterior that gets her through all the bull**** in her life, but the scenes I have enjoyed the most so far are the ones with her and her mother and the flashback to when she was a child and why she has feelings for Jason ~ any other time I see her and I mainly want her to tone it down a notch. I think the actress does a great job, I just think we need to see more of the inner Tara.

I also really like how the actors are attractive but still realistic. Anna Paguin glows and Bill is prefectly pale and those sideburns work.

I'm only half way thru the first book, so it's pretty much kept the pace with the first 5 episodes, and I've liked how much of the story is intact. Bill is wonderful ~ so prefectly bland but then the little sparks in his personality some through. There's a little scene I love with him and Bellefleur's cousin, but I'm not sure if you've seen that epi yet, so I won't say more :). And Sam is interesting; I'm not sure who I want to see Sookie with, even though I'm sure I'm gonna love Eric.
